Additional Support for Learning
Welcome to the Additional Support for Learning Faculty
At Mackie Academy we have a dedicated team of teachers and support staff (Pupil and School Support Assistants) supporting learning and teaching activities across the school. We work with pupils to ensure they feel safe, valued and are able to participate in learning which they find meaningful and enjoyable.

Extended Transition
Extended Transition
Some pupils may be identified by their primary school as requiring an extended period of transition to Mackie Academy. This involves a programme of small group visits in the summer term lead by our ASL staff who will introduce young people to some aspects of school life and allay any anxieties they may have. This is in addition to the general Transition programme that runs in the summer term, culminating in a week-long experience of school life and activities whilst following the S1 timetable.
