All first-time and returning Field Practicum Instructors and Preceptors are invited to complete training sessions of our Field Practicum Instructor Training Series for the 2023-24 academic year.  Total 8 hours are required for new APU Field Practicum Instructors in 2023-24. This course meets the qualifications for two (2) hours of continuing education credit for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The Department of Social Work is an approved provider of continuing education, per Section 1887.4.3 

Training Objectives:

Cultural and Diversity Considerations for Student Success

Participants will integrate social, cultural, and personal influences that shape their worldview into social work practice

Participants will understand cultural responsive services and working with bilingual and bicultural interns


Cultural and Diversity Considerations in Supervision (APU Faculty Panel): Participants will understand the impact of social, cultural, and personal factors on the development of effective supervision practices
