Child Welfare Stipend Program
The LADCFS + UCLA Academy of Workforce Excellence Child Welfare Stipend Program is offered under the IV-E provision of the Social Security Act, with the goal of strengthening professional social work practice in public child welfare agencies. This stipend opportunity is offered through a federally funded program in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and six other partnering Los Angeles-area MSW programs.

This stipend provides financial support to MSW students interested in child welfare in exchange for a commitment to work with Los Angeles County DCFS.

The Child Welfare Stipend Program
The Child Welfare Stipend Program
- Provides a stipend in the amount of $26,000 per year for 2 years (total $52,000)
- For students with a specialization in Clinical Practice with Individuals and Families
- The stipend is awarded in the generalist foundation year
- Twelve stipends are awarded annually (6 for Generalist Foundation Year and 6 for Specialization Year)
- Entering full-time students are eligible to apply upon admission, in the Spring prior to beginning the MSW program
