Welcome APU Social Work students and Field Practicum Instructors!  The field practicum program is a partnership among the student, the field practicum instructor (agency supervisor), and the APU social work department. During the field practicum internship experience, students will learn how to integrate social work theory and practice skills while in a supervised internship setting. To maximize the practicum experience, students are encouraged to proactively seek out learning opportunities at the assigned practicum internship agencies. The time spent in field practicum internship is truly a transformative experience.

We, as the Field Practicum Faculty, are here to walk alongside students and field practicum instructors to provide the needed support and guidance to be successful.  Please do not hesitate to contact any one of us for assistance.

Please Note: During the 2023-24 academic year, we will be initiating a name change from “field” to “practicum” to refer to internships. During the transition, we will be using both names interchangeably with the intent to move towards a complete change to Practicum Education by Fall of 2024.
