Dear nex+Gen community, 

Welcome back, everyone! Second-semester classes begin tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7th. I hope you had a restful and fun holiday break with time to recharge and make some great memories. As we kick off this new semester, let's bring our energy, focus, and enthusiasm into the second half of the school year. May 2025 be a year of growth, success, and new opportunities for each of you. Let's work hard, support each other, and make this year our best one yet. Happy New Year, and welcome back!

Here are the latest updates:

• San Mateo Gate: Student IDs do not work on the Entry Gate off of San Mateo. Please push the button or call the school at (505)878-6400. The front office will assist you. 

• Schedule Changes: If you are considering a schedule change for this upcoming semester, contact Bethany Headly at Bethany.headley@aps.edu. The deadline to drop a course will be January 24th. 

• 1st Semester Grades: Grades should be posted and available on ParentVue/StudentVue at the end of the day on January 10th. 

• Synergy Hall Pass: At the end of January, nex+Gen will move to Synergy Hall Pass. This new hall pass system will allow parents to track student hall passes using ParentVue. 

• Pre-Registration: Pre-Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will take place in February this year. Here is the schedule:

On Monday, February 3rd, students will receive an advisory overview of all of the electives we hope to offer at Nex+Gen. 

On Tuesday, February 11th we will hold an electives fair where students can attend a short presentation about the electives that most interest them. 

On Monday, February 24th students will fill out the pre-registration form with their advisor. 

• SAT :  The SAT will be administered to all juniors on Wednesday, April 2nd. Students who are not taking the test will have a release day.
