The prices are going to be $15 before the door and $20 at the door, and will be from 7-10 pm. Please park in the student lot. Bring your ID! We are hoping to see you guys there!
Food Donations for Alumni Day: Our annual Alumni Day is coming up on March 20th. This special event gives our alumni the opportunity to reconnect with nex+Gen, share their career experiences with current students, enjoy some friendly games, and celebrate together. The day concludes with a banquet honoring our alumni, and we are currently seeking food donations to help make this event a success. If you are interested in donating or would like more information, please reach out to me directly at lynch_d@aps.edu. Thank you for supporting our students and alumni community. Events like this are only possible because of your generosity!
Budget Season: Like many schools across APS, nex+Gen Academy High School will experience significant staffing reductions for the 2026–2027 school year. As a result, we will be reducing our overall enrollment capacity from 300 students to 200 students.
While this is a substantial adjustment, we are working to minimize the impact on students. Fortunately, we anticipate very little change to our core course offerings and academic programming. Our focus remains on maintaining the innovative, small-school experience and strong relationships that define nex+Gen Academy.
We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.
Online Registration for 2026-2027: Online Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year is open. If you need assistance with ParentVUE, please contact Ms.Granone at nicole.granone@aps.edu.
Pet Essentials Drive: Student government is holding a Pet Essentials Drive from February 2nd to April 22nd! We are partnering with Watermelon Ranch to provide cats and dogs the things they need. There will be a donation box located on the stage in the cyberhall. We are accepting: shelf-stable cat/dog food, blankets, cat litter, and toys. Also! There will be fliers posted around the school for anyone interested in volunteering at Watermelon ranch

Seven students from Nex+ Gen spent months preparing for the District Mock Trial competition. These students took an 80+ page packet, prepared by the Center for Civic Values, to create witness statements, attorney questions, opening and closing statements for both Prosecution and Defense, and learned key objections and rules of evidence to support their cases. Students were able to use all Nex+ Gen learning outcomes to create compelling arguments for both sides and walked away with two wins! All attorneys (Amy Klump, Jacob Klump, Autumn Ringia, and Brooklynn Rogers) walked away with “Best Attorney” awards confirming their hard work and collaboration. Autumn Ringia and Brooklynn Rogers were awarded “Best Witness” in their respective rounds, while Kai Schwartz De Rossi played expert witnesses in GPS technology and incorporated what he has learned from his current Physics course with Dr. Merewether to inform some of his testimony. Josh Trujillo was the team's only freshmen who jumped right in and learned the key role of Harper Van Zant to show his cool, calm demeanor in explaining the events of the robbery that was the central focus of the trial. Senior, Augustine Escarcega earned an honor cord which he will sport at this year’s graduation ceremony. All members of the team would like to give a huge shout out to Lily Allison for committing her time and attention to this year’s tedious time-keeper role and look forward to her participation as an attorney next year. We would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Klump for donating their time and expertise in helping students hone their understanding of objections and courtroom procedure.
Courtroom Journalist Goes to State
Leah Allison took fifth place in the District Qualifier for the Courtroom Journalism Competition on February 20-21. She spent Friday observing and taking notes about the trials and then had less than 24 hours to generate her article. The writing was objective, creative, insightful, and informative enough to secure a spot at the State competition in March. Please wish Leah good luck in her next writing endeavors!
