Course Description:
Ākonga have a chance to develop an understanding of risk management and how it relates to outdoor activities, learn and improve their interpersonal skills throughout a team building program, demonstrate strategies to improve their performance in different outdoor activities and take action to assist others to participate in physical activity. Ākonga have the opportunity to take part in a range of different outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, kayaking and tramping in and around Porirua and the Wellington region.
This course offers the same standards as PED100 so students will not be able to choose both subject options.

Course Description:
This course provides an opportunity to develop physical skills, leadership abilities and risk management planning within an outdoor context. There will be a range of unit and achievement standards based around the outdoors that ākonga can choose from to better meet their learning needs. Ākonga has the opportunity to take part in a number of different outdoor activities in and around Porirua and the Wellington region. The outdoor pursuits covered during the course include mountain biking, tramping, navigation, running an outdoor activity, kayaking and orienteering.

Course Description:
This course is for ākonga who have an interest in the Outdoors and further develop and builds on what is covered in PEO 200. It provides ākonga with an opportunity to experience and develop skills and knowledge in various outdoor situations and pursuits such as tramping, leadership, navigation and mountain biking. Ākonga will have a choice to complete Unit or Achievement Standards for each topic covered and will have the opportunity to gain a Subject Endorsement and University Entrance.
