English at Level 2 is made up of a range of thematic courses. Students are to pick one course from those listed in the first semester, as well as one listed in the second semester. All students MUST take two courses across the year. As the year will look differently for a number of students, it is important that they carefully look at the UE Literacy opportunities available, as well as the internal and external balance. The * key indicates a course with the UE Literacy internal writing standard included. Please note, some of our courses include standards that count for both UE Literacy Reading and Writing.
Students may have the option to study a variety of texts, to explore different themes, to complete research and create their own texts. While some of the content, order of assessments, standards covered, and/or themes studied will be decided between the teacher and students, all courses will include Māori and Pacific texts, voices and perspectives. The credit totals provided are a general indication of what will be offered.
Course endorsement will depend on student choices.
