The purpose of the yo-yo project was to learn to create a wood toy so that you can make a website documenting to process.

The first step to making a yo-yo is cutting out a piece of circular wood and gluing a one and a half inch dowel into it.

After cutting out another wooden disc and sanding them down, you attach the other end of the dowel to the disc and add the string.

After painting both sides, the yo-yo is finished. I painted mine a blend of white and red so when it spins the colors blend together.
Reflection
Reflection
The yo-yo is finally done after lots of work. It is functional, but it goes down the string slowly so it is not as easy to use as a store bought one.
When I started this project I:
Didn't know how to use a hole saw
Had never made a yo-yo before
Some advice I would give to future students trying this is to not be nervous about anything because when you really get into it is is quite fun.
If I had more time:
I would have sanded my yo-yo to be a bit smoother on the inside but I was a bit behind so I was eager to move on.
