Today we are going to do the Glossary and the Index.
Glossary:all you have to do is write GLOSSARY on top. I typed all the words in ABC order and their definitions. You have a glossary at the end of a nonfiction book because if you don't know a word you can look it up in the glossary to help you understand. Tell your parents why nonfiction books have GLOSSARIES.
For the index write INDEX on the top of the page.
Now go back and highlight at least 3 words from the glossary that are found in your chapters.
Write down what page you found the words you highlighted in your Index. I require only three, but you should try to find most of the words and highlight them and write what page you would find them in our index. I know you will not have used every word.
You use an index when you want to find a certain topic when reading nonfiction books. Tell your parent why and when you would use and index.
