What is your ideal writing environment?
Quiet and peaceful.
How do you resonate with your piece? Why is it personal to you?
It is personal to me because there is a deeper meaning in my piece than just two animals. I write from my heart and whatever I am feeling, so I used trust as my theme because that is something that I struggle with.
What message do you hope to convey to the reader through your piece?
People do not change and even if they deceive themselves as someone, for instance the anteater was nice to the ant. It is in the anteaters nature to eat ants. There won’t be a change. They will always be the same on the inside.
On a bright summer day, Mr. Ant was peacefully strolling through the park. He completed all of his daily exercises and then he went to go look for food to bring back home. He looked for food for hours and hours but he could not find a single piece! Right when Mr. Ant was about to give up his search, he spotted from far away, his greatest enemy, the anteater. The faster he ran the closer the Ms. Anteater seemed to get. Then, a strange thing happened, Ms. Anteater did not seem interested in eating Mr. Ant, instead she asked him, “You look scared, are you scared of me?” Mr. Ant quickly shook his head and said “No” Ms. Anteater then proceeded to ask him what he was looking for and he told her about his long search for food. She told Mr. Ant that she will help find him food.
They talked the whole journey and instantly had a connection with each other. Hours passed and finally they found a few crumbs on the floor. Mr. Ant ate and ate, then took the biggest crumb and placed it on his back so he could bring it back home. It was starting to get dark so Ms. Anteater offered to take Mr. Ant on her back. They finally arrived to Mr. Ant’s colony. Mr. Ant could not thank Ms. Anteater enough for her help and he did not want her to leave. He told Ms. Anteater, “This day has been absolutely amazing with you, you really showed me that enemies can be kind to each other.” Ms. Anteater then replied with, “Thank you Mr. Ant, you are about to make my day pretty special too.” Right as she said that, Ms. Anteater whipped out her tongue and swallowed Mr. Ant alive.
