What is your main source of inspiration?
The poem itself, Sky Diving, was my main source of inspiration. Nikki Giovanni’s description of the speaker’s feeling helped me envision what I wanted to draw.
What artists and/or writers inspired or influenced your work?
My father, who is an artist himself, greatly inspires my artistic drive. Since it is a movie poster I added the “and streaming" portion on the bottom because of the strange times we are living in.
What is your ideal writing environment?
Even though my piece is not written, my ideal writing environment a well lit, but quiet space so I can focus. For art, I prefer a comfortable setting, probably with a bunch of random things for inspiration.
What message do you hope to convey to the reader through your piece?
I hope to convey a sense of wonder through my art. I want those looking at it to connect with the piece, just as I was able to connect with the poem the poster is based on.
