Lift New Rickstones is committed to meeting its responsibilities in relation to the Equality Act 2010 and aims to uphold the three main elements of the Act:
Eliminate discrimination and other conduct that is prohibited by the Act.
Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
Foster good relations across all characteristics - between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
During the academic year students attend assemblies on a range of themes associated with equality and diversity. Many topics are further explored in areas of the curriculum including History, RE, Sociology, Health & Social Care and Personal Development. We aim to raise awareness and encourage discussion. Aspects of the curriculum that promote tolerance and friendship, or which share understanding of a range of religions or cultures are covered in the Personal Development programme.
Our buildings are accessible and there are accessible toilet facilities in various locations around the school. There are designated accessible parking bays.
