Communication & Interaction Needs
ICAN
The children’s communication charity. ‘I CAN help’ is a range of information services that provide help and advice to parents and practitioners about speech, language and communication. It includes a free call-back service with a speech and language therapist. www.ican.org.uk
Makaton
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech in spoken word order.
Talk To Your Baby
Talk To Your Baby is a campaign run by the National Literacy Trust to encourage parents and carers to talk more to children from birth to three.

Talking Point
Talking Point is a website all about children’s speech, language and communication. It is designed for parents, people who work with children, and children and young people themselves. It contains everything you need to know about supporting children’s speech and language development.
The British Stammering Association
BSA is the only national organisation for adults and children who stammer, run by people who stammer.

A national charity for people who use or work with augmentative or alternative communication (AAC).
