November 2023 : Grocer's Academy Awards

On Monday night, I had the absolute privilege of attending the Grocer's Academy Awards in which a group of our Year 12 students were competing. Students pitched their business plan for a more sustainable future to an incredible panel including Tim Campbell who regularly appears on The Apprentice.

Our students pitched an idea of reducing food waste through the tracking of exactly what is in your fridge and they were judged to have the best and most sustainable business plan which led them to winning the event and being crowned champions for 2023! This is an incredible achievement and demonstrates the hard work, commitment and energy they have put into preparing and working closely with their professional mentors.

Having won the event, students will now go on to the grand final in January which will be hosted by The Lord Mayor at Mansion House. They will further refine their idea between now and then and compete against all of the other Livery Award winners.

A huge thank you also goes to Ms Mussa who has put an incredible amount of time into preparing our students for the event. Your hard work and dedication to these opportunities will be life changing for our young people and truly lives up to the idea of giving every student everything that they deserve.

Congratulations to our amazing group of students - they were truly incredible!

October 2023 : Loved Valued Able Workshops

Every Kingsley student was able to participate in RSE classroom workshops from the Charity Group LVA. These sessions were supported by a variety of activities and focused discussions on issues that resonated with each year group.

As a school we are fully inclusive, extending to RSE being delivered in an engaging and empowering way. This allows our young people space for learning about issues they need to understand in our modern world.

Summer 2023 : Safety First Day

Our fabulous Year 8s were involved in Safety First Day. Safety First is a Blue Light Collaboration project with the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and the Metropolitan Police. Year 8 students participated in a series of important and thought-provoking workshops tailored on road safety, county lines and knife crime.

The sessions were brilliant and the students were very engaged, asking inquisitive questions throughout the different sessions. I am pleased that our Year 8s were able to have such informative sessions on safety and I am so proud of their outstanding behaviour throughout the sessions.

Thank you to Safety First for providing these sessions for us.
