Welcome from our Principal

Bob Tinsley
Principal

I am privileged to lead Kingsley Academy as Principal, and extremely proud of the phenomenal achievements that we have secured over the past 4 years. Our school is a warm welcoming place to be, which is characterised by excellent teaching, high levels of support and exceptional relationships between staff and students. For the last two years, our school has now placed in the top 15% of schools nationally for Progress at GCSE. This means that students at Kingsley make more progress from the beginning of Y7 to the end of Y11, than their peers in most other schools do. Our modelled Progress 8 score for 2020 was +0.82 and for 2021 is +0.65, placing us as one of the highest performing schools, not only in London but in the country. This is also reflected in our GCSE attainment with 65% of students achieving a Grade 4+ in English and Maths at GCSE and 38% of students securing a Grade 5+ in English and Maths at GCSE (2020).

Our students are our absolute strength. They are overwhelmingly polite, respectful and hard-working. At Kingsley Academy, we are big believers, in instilling 'good old fashioned values' of respect, hard work and kindness in our students. We expect our students to work hard and behave well both inside and outside the classroom. This is evident in our students attitude towards learning, their respectful and polite manner towards each other, and in their interactions in the local community.

Historically our school has had a chequered past, however, our reputation is quickly changing and we are now full in all year groups, with waiting lists of students who wish to join the academy. This is due to our growing reputation as a school characterised by exemplary behaviour, polite and hard working students and excellent teaching.

Ofsted visited our school in October 2019, and acknowledged that Kingsley Academy had 'transformed in a short period of time'. Inspectors judged our school as 'Good' in all areas, and commented that students received a good education at the academy, and that the school had outstanding potential for further development.

At Kingsley Academy, we want to establish ourselves, as 'a school at the heart of our community, developing knowledge, ambition and kindness to prepare students for success at University and the world beyond'. In order to achieve this, we are committed to ensuring that every lesson at the academy, is challenging and engaging. I am passionate about the power of education to transform lives, and feel strongly that Kingsley Academy, now has the right staff in place to ensure that our school goes from strength to strength. I am proud of the progress that Kingsley Academy has made so far, and know that it will quite quickly take it's rightful place as an Outstanding school, and as a beacon of excellence in West London.

In order to get a true sense of our remarkable school, I urge you to organise a visit to see our school in action. If you would like to arrange a visit, then this can be arranged by contacting, Julie Traynor, PA to the Principal jtraynor@kingsleyacademy.org who will be happy to arrange a suitable time.

Yours faithfully,

Bob Tinsley
