News: Term 3 and 4 2025/26
This term, all pupils will be participating in Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood (RSHP) lessons, which will take place every Thursday afternoon.
RSHP education is an important part of our curriculum and supports children and young people to develop knowledge, understanding and skills appropriate to their age and stage.
To help parents and carers stay informed:
At the beginning of each week, class teachers will share details of the specific RSHP lesson being taught, along with relevant resources, on Google Classroom.
This will give families the opportunity to view lesson content in advance and support any discussions at home if they wish.
Full details of our RSHP programme, including:
the programme of work for each year group, and
information about individual lesson content
can be found in the RSHP section of this website.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss RSHP learning further, please contact the school office.

This term we have welcomed two BP Students through the tutoring scheme.
Ailin, who is currently studying Psychology and Neuroscience, introduced P4M to the fascinating world of optical illusions. The pupils loved discovering how the brain can sometimes trick the eyes.
P6B enjoyed an exciting science session with Valyla. She led the class through a hands on investigation exploring the refraction of light using water. Pupils were amazed to see how light bends and objects appear to change when placed in water.
Thank you to both Ailin and Valyla for sharing their expertise.

🧭Outdoor Learning for P7A- Thursday 5th March 2026🧭

📖World Book Day 2026, Thursday 5th March📖
Our Heads and Deputes of Families, along with Mrs Clark, have been busy preparing something special for this year’s World Book Day!
Always trying to be creative and a little bit different, this year we are excited to present… Story Snippets!
These are short extracts from well known stories… but with a twist!
Some of the characters have wandered in from other books! 👀
We will share the recordings on here after World Book Day!
🔎 Can you identify the mystery characters from the clues?
✍️ Can you and your child/ren create your own Story Snippet?
We would love to read your creations!
📖Reading Together at Home, Parent Session
Tuesday 3rd March📖
Next Tuesday, 3rd March, we are looking forward to welcoming a group of parents into school for our first session focused on how to support children’s reading at home.
During the session, we will be sharing practical strategies and taking a closer look at some of the helpful reading resources available on our school website here .
Invitations for this first session have already been sent out and additional sessions will be offered during Term 4.
We look forward to working together to help our learners continue to build confidence, enjoyment and success in reading.
Over the past few weeks, we have introduced a Question of the Day in the dinner hall. It has been great to see pupils peer round the dinner hall door to read that days question and then engage in deeper thinking and conversations with their peers while waiting for and enjoying, their lunch.
For the next few days, we will continue to model the types of questions we use before handing the responsibility over to the pupils. Children will be able to submit their own question ideas through a form on their Google Classroom. We will also be adding some “Prove It!” style numeracy questions to encourage problem‑solving and mathematical reasoning.
After reading the latest HMIe thematic report on Literacy and English, which highlights the importance of meaningful dialogue and opportunities for learners to express and develop their thinking, our Question of the Day supports these key recommendations in everyday school life.
These questions are a fantastic way to spark discussion and we encourage families to share and explore similar questions at home too.

Pupil Voice Update - February 2026
Our Senior Pupil Voice representatives have had an incredibly busy and productive term so far! They have been working hard to gather the views of pupils across the school by leading this session's Learning, Teaching and Assessment focus groups with every class. They have supported pupils to complete this term’s wellbeing survey, ensuring that every voice was heard. They will be gathering this information and sharing key message with class teachers over the next couple of weeks.
Building on their findings from Term 1 and Term 2, the group has been exploring the question “What makes a 5★ Learner?”
On Friday 20th February, the group met with Miss A. Wakeford to begin designing our school’s ‘5 Star Learner’ graphic. It’s very much a work in progress, but what an incredibly creative bunch they are! The pupils showed impressive teamwork, listening to each other, sharing ideas confidently and respecting everyone’s contributions.
We look forward to sharing the finished product with you all soon.
