Brief description of CCA activities and prerequisite(s), if any:
The VJC Chinese Society is a community where students can pursue their love for the Chinese culture, drama and language. They also leverage on their strengths through different activities like Chinese Calligraphy, tea ceremony, film appreciation, pop song writing and singing, quizzes etc. These activities are run by members, for their fellow members or other students who are interested in participating.
In addition, workshops like Chinese Radio Drama Script Writing, Chinese Dance, Oral Presentation Skills, Chinese Knotting and Chinese Newspaper Editing provide a more diverse and enriching learning experience for members.
E-publication is one of the highlight. This allow students to showcase their talents and creativity. Members involved in E-publication focus on publishing literary collections online. Throughout the year, members work together to come up with their own literary works and collate works from their schoolmates. The process of carrying out these tasks trains students’ creativity, resilience and teamwork.
Members can participate in competitions like Literary writing competition, Songwriting competition, Oratorical/Drama/Cross-talk competition, Radio Drama Script Writing Competition, Calligraphy competition etc.
Members do not require any special equipment or prior knowledge. However, we do expect active participation in sharing and regular attendance for weekly sessions.
