Brief description of CCA activities and prerequisite(s), if any:

The Victoria Junior College Debating Society is for all students interested in debating. We welcome both novices as well as those with debating experience in secondary schools. Training is provided for both these groups, focusing on the fundamentals of debating for the novices conducted by the seniors or an alumni coach and competitive training by the alumni coach for the experienced debaters who will represent the College in various tournaments and championships.

VJC debaters have done the college proud over the years, emerging consistently as one of the top colleges in the debating circuit. Achievements include winning the championship at the Hwa Chong British Parliamentary 2023, 1st Runners-Up positions in the 2022 MOE-ACJC Invitational Debate Championship, 2019 NUS Political Association Debate Championship, 2019 SMU Hammers as well as in the 2020 Singapore International Youth Speech and Debate Invitational Tournament.
