VJC also offers students the opportunity to start their own Student Interest Groups (SIGs). Created by Victorians, for Victorians, SIGs bring together like-minded Victorians to network, explore and deepen their interests and work towards a common cause.
Past SIGs initiated by our Victorians included VGastronomy, Pets and Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Beanie Bros, Korean Club and more! VGastronomy reviews makan places and shares what’s good in the hood, PAWS looks out for our furry friends, Beanie Bros not only levels up their crocheting skills, but also brings a cheer to cancer patients with their lovingly-crocheted beanies and Korean Club promotes a greater appreciation for the Korean culture.
If you would like to start your own student interest group with like-minded friends in VJC in 2024, please watch the briefing video video.

Student interest groups, or VI2 (Victorians' Interest, Victorians' Initiatives) as we call it in VJC, run on an adhoc basis, unlike the fixed training sessions of other CCAs. Training sessions typically take place during the respective VI2 peak periods, and the schedule will be decided by the team of students.
Some past VI2 initiated by your seniors included VGastronomy, Pets and Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Beanie Bros, Korean Club and more! Find out more about them below.
(1) VJ:Cyber
VJ:Cyber is a Student-Interest-Group (SIG) focussing on cybersecurity. Despite being called cybersecurity, VJ:Cyber focuses on the attacking portion, namely on Capture The Flag competitions (CTF), in which participants are to break through defenses and locate objectives online. VJ:Cyber thus acts as a congregation for Victorians interested in ethical hacking, Open Source Intelligence and Social Engineering, as well as providing lessons and resources to learn about such matters effectively.
(2) SG100
Fostering a strong sense of national identity among Singapore’s youth is essential for the nation’s progress. At Victoria Junior College (VJC), we propose the SG100 Foundation Interest Group, or SG100 Club, the first of its kind in any Singaporean school. This initiative aims to instill patriotism and cultural appreciation, allowing students to actively engage in shaping Singapore’s future.
The SG100 Foundation (SG100F) will guide this effort, emphasizing values like fairness, justice, and inclusiveness to foster community spirit within VJC and beyond. Our motto, “Lest We Forget,” encourages reflection on Singapore’s past, appreciation of the present, and preparation for future challenges.
Led by motivated students passionate about national identity, the club will leverage VJC’s cultural diversity. Through community service projects, public talks, and awareness campaigns, members can contribute to the college and the wider community. Over the next two years, we aim to build a community united in pride for Singapore.
Key activities will include biweekly community service, events aligned with national celebrations like National Day and Racial Harmony Day, cultural exchanges with ASEAN schools, and participation in ASEAN games. Students will also be encouraged to proudly sing the national anthem.
By joining the SG100 Club, students will strengthen their community ties and gain a deeper understanding of Singapore’s rich cultural heritage, broadening their perspectives while promoting Singaporean values locally and internationally.

During our sessions, members gather and crochet plush toys together for a cause. Last year, our 50 members have crocheted a total of 91 plush toys, which were all donated to Dahrul Ihsan Orphanage as Christmas gifts.

PAWS is a student-initiated interest group with the aim of uniting those with a passion for pets and animal welfare-related issues! The activities conducted by PAWS are entirely student-initiated, so all members will have a say in designing the CCA experience that they want to have. As such, members need to be participative and willing to actively contribute to make PAWS an enriching experience for everyone involved.
(2) Japanese Club
Jap Club is a community of students who share an interest in exploring the different aspects of the Japanese culture. These range from cultural traditions like tea ceremony, kimonos and festival celebrations; to modern aspects such as anime and games. You can also get to know more about the socio-economic development of Japan to better appreciate its development over the years.
(3) Beanie Bros
In Beanie Bros, Victorians are able to pick up the skill of crocheting and bring home their own creations!
