~ Drama ~

The VJC Drama Club provides a warm and welcoming space for students who wish to explore the different facets of drama. Students get to build their confidence and independence through acting, script-writing, directing, set design and props, costume and stage make-up, lighting, sound and stage management.

Drama Night is the first major production of the year where students gain valuable experience and hone their abilities while working on the rehearsal process with guidance from the instructor and teachers. Previous performances include Brainstorm!, A Journey To The West East and A Night To Remember.

Following Drama Night, students can then participate in creating their own works. In previous years, this has been an evening of scripted sketches (Sketch Night Live) and for the last few years has taken the form of student devised plays. 

The Drama SYF, (usually part of Drama Night performance) also allows students to represent the college and showcase their technique and skills acquired throughout the year. The 2024 Drama SYF piece, entitled 'CHOPE!', was awarded Distinction, a testament to our students' hard work and passion for theatre, and the club is looking forward to the next SYF presentation which will take place in 2026.
