In 2032 a comet is about to hit Amsterdam and change life on planet Earth for generations to come. Sixteen-year-old Denise and her mother have less than an hour to get to their assigned underground shelter. They were not one of the lucky ones who were able to get assigned to a generation spaceship and escape the planet. A last-minute incident that saves their neighbor gives Denise and her mother temporary shelter on a generation ship that has not left Earth yet. Each passenger on the ship must have a practical skill to contribute. Denise has always had a hard time fitting in. She is biracial, autistic, and fears that she will never be allowed to stay. She tries as hard as she can to make herself useful on the ship, but her mother's bad choices get them kicked off. After she saves some of the passengers, she is allowed back on. How far will she go in order to get her mother back on the ship?
