TESDA-NCR, DOTR meets for the Implementation of Tsuper Iskolar

Tsuper Iskolar is a joint-project of the TESDA and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed between the parties last year. The agreement covers the implementation of the Stakeholder Support Mechanism Component, particularly the Training and Social Assistance for the Affected Stakeholders under the PUV Modernization Program. Under the agreement, DOTr will transfer funds to TESDA for the implementation of the project and will identify the target beneficiaries. On the other hand, TESDA will provide skills training and assessment to the qualified beneficiaries of the program to help them become competent, self-sufficient and well-equipped with the necessary technical education and skills of their own choice.

The agenda of the meeting includes the status of the implementation of the program and the reconciliation of the list of beneficiaries. The participants detailed the challenges that they have encountered and proposed ways on how it can be addressed.

Regional Director Atty. Clarence V. Guinto of the Land Transportation Office (LTO-NCR) attended the meeting together with other representatives from the said Office. He shared his insights on how the LTO can contribute to the program especially in the provision of the list of possible beneficiaries. The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), as well as the Office of Transportation Cooperative (OTC) were likewise present during the meeting.
