NCR Director attends SeaCon 2019
TESDA-NCR Regional Director Conrado G. Bares attended the Seaman Convention 2019 held last Friday, October 4, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center to deliver a keynote message and join in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
During his keynote address, the Regional Director expressed his admiration for the seafarers for their diligence and dedication saying that they are aptly called the modern-day heroes of our country. He added that TESDA is one with them for the betterment of the lives of the seafarers and the maritime industry as a whole.
The SeaCon 2019 is an event featuring a Maritime Industry Conference, Maritime Job Fair, and Business & Investment Opportunity Expo. Over 7,000 maritime industry visitors and 120 exhibitors/sponsors were expected to attend.
A plenary was conducted entitled Maritime Talk with representatives from the maritime industry and other government sectors addressing the issues and concerns presently facing the maritime industry particularly job security and job creation.
Several booths were also installed for exhibitors from both the private and public sectors offering various types of products, services, and business opportunities.
