Mount Kirigamine Snowshoeing:

This was my second snowshoeing experience, and I must say, it was one of the most challenging and tiring experiences of my life.

We were placed into two groups, the easy and the difficult hike. I must admit, I was surprised that I was placed in the difficult hike. I always tend to struggle with hikes, but that never stops me from challenging myself. I enjoy going on hikes and exploring the nature, even if it is a tiring experience.

This snowshoeing was a challenge to my fitness, but also a challenge due to the slopes. I really get tired walking uphill, and the slippery snow did not help with this. Those were some of the challenges that were presented to me but I must say, I really feel that I have developed in those areas to the point where I could call them strengths. I was more patient while dealing with the snow, and this was really crucial to the hike. If I get frustrated, I would slip and fall down, and if I rush, I would also slip. The challenge was finding the right pace and I succeeded in that area towards the end.

I also need to mention the benefits of working collaboratively in a hike like this one. Had it not been for the constant help and support from my peers, I don't think that I would have been able to finish this hike. The constant support and words of encouragements that I received and said to others is what got us all to the finish line, and allowed for a fun and exciting experience.

I really enjoyed this hike and although it was tiring, it was worth it. Many people in the world avoid such things and are too lazy to go and have a walk, but in my opinion, this is a global issue. Human beings need some form of exercise in their lives, and honestly obesity and other diseases would arise from this lack of exercise, and that is something I definitely want to avoid, which is why I sign up for those difficult hikes. They may be difficult, but those hikes are fun, and beneficial to our health.
