I have always enjoyed playing volleyball. I found myself to be good at the sport, however, I never really took it seriously or invested time and effort into it in the past.
The beginning of this school year also marked a change for me when it comes to volleyball. I have decided to become club captain and was immediately accepted and approved to becoming one. Honestly, I had no idea about anything related to formations, tactic, etc when it came to volleyball, however, I have learned a lot ever since then.
Today, I am leading a group of around 25 boys in volleyball club, and we have come far from where we started. We all developed the unity and bonding in the team, and so respect is present across all members. This is something I really emphasized upon as I never wanted any blame to be put on anyone if they messed up a play or something. In addition, we have all improved with our serves, sets, and spikes, and those are the basics of volleyball. I longer see any stupid mistakes, or any easy plays being messed up and this has impressed me alot. We are all around the same level and so even if we play the "best" vs another team, we get a close result. I have also been really impressed by the fact that people don't miss any practice sessions anymore. At the beginning, we had people skip the sessions etc, however, now we are all united towards a common goal of improving and so nobody skips. This demonstrates our commitment and engagement to volleyball.
I have been really impressed with volleyball club so far, and let's hope for an even more impressive future when we play games against other schools.
