Final Project Week

Post date: Dec 28, 2018

During the October project Week, the last project week in our IB journey, the Karuiku members and I travelled all the way to Okayama to hold a workshop for Okayama High School, an IB candidate school. The school showed a lot of interest towards our project, as they also wanted to hear about our IB experiences, and so we decided to travel to Okayama during our October Project Week. Part of our journey also included visiting and exploring the culture of the Kansai region, and so we also visited Osaka and Kyoto. This was such a successful, rewarding, and memorable project week.

In terms of planning and work, this project week required a lot of hardwork and dedication from all the members. We each contributed in our own unique ways, and I am really proud of my team. I was personally in charge of contacting Okayama High School, and this was not an easy process as we communicated back and forth to finalize and discuss our plans. I was also in charge of the budget, and this was really confusing as I had to document and keep record of all the transactions in order to justify our spending to the school. I learned a lot from those responsibilities that I handled and I feel proud that I managed everything with no issues at all.

As for the workshop itself, I must say that it was really successful. The English language level of the students was not as high as we expected, however, we could still communicate and interact with them. The school itself loved our project, and the principle visited us at some point to express his gratitude and appreciation. We really enjoyed it, and once again, Karuiku completes yet another successful workshop.
