The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists families with energy costs in the summer and winter months. There are two components of LIHEAP —Energy Assistance (EA) and Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). The benefit amount is based on your household size, household income, and the type of energy source used in the home.
The Weatherization program provides eligible households with home energy conservation services, including cost-effective, energy-efficient home improvements.
United Way | Missouri Critical Medical Needs Program
The Critical Medical Needs Program is in place to help any utility customer and/or household members with an existing serious illness or chronic condition, whose condition would be aggravated by the involuntary disconnection or suspension of utility service.
ELIGIBILITY: Missouri residents who are Spire, Ameren, Evergy or Liberty electric or gas utility that has an outstanding balance and/or an American Water bill that is in behind, in threat of disconnect or disconnected. Household member must have a critical medical or behavioral condition that would be made worse by being without the utility service in the home.
A medical waiver form will need to be completed by a verifiable medical / behavioral health representative. Patient/client must also agree to complete an intake form by phone after medical waiver is received.
