My professional career began as a Registered Nurse. Over the years I have worked in ICU-CCU, Neurosurgery ICU, Psych facilities and Hospice. I am also a former U.S Navy Nurse, therefore; I have a good understanding of military personnel and the traumas of serving in conflict. I came to the Ozarks by way of Michigan and California. Currently, I live on a farm with several horses, which are used from time to time in Equine Therapy with some of my patients. Since 1982, I have been involved in the recovery process from co-dependency, drugs, and alcohol.
I completed my Doctoral program in 2003. My Dissertation was a holistic program and text book for drug/alcohol recovery. I have special studies in Neuropsychology and a Post-doctorate Masters Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology.
I prefer to educate my clients on the how and why of their condition which aids in understanding and compliance to therapy and consultations with their prescribing physician if needed. I am also credentialed in EMDR therapy.

The purpose of the organization is to increase awareness among public and professional communities about the emotional changes that women experience during pregnancy and postpartum. Approximately 15% of all women will experience postpartum depression following the birth of a child. Up to 10% will experience depression or anxiety during pregnancy. When the mental health of the mother is compromised, it affects the entire family.
