Ion - any atom (or group of atoms) that have a collective charge
Monoatomic - ions with only one atom present Fe2+
You can predict monoatomic ions on the periodic table:
Polyatomic - ions with multiple atoms forming the ion C2H3O2- Note: For polyatomic ions you will need a table to tell you the formulas/names
You should also understand that ionic compounds are always written with the cation (positive part) first and the anion (negative part) second
