Safety Rules:
ABSOLUTELY NO HORSING AROUND! - automatic dismissal from the lab.
Do not touch nobs at lab tables; the gas may be on!
Report all spills to the teacher.
Report ALL accidents and/or broken equipment to the teacher.
Turn off hot plates when you are finished with them.
Keep your hair tied back or it WILL catch on fire!
Check your lab partner, and have your lab partner check you before proceeding
Locate the shower, eye wash station and most importantly the fire extinguisher.
Turn off the gas when you are done using it.
Wear goggles when instructed to do so (even by directions).
(!) READ the label. Not everything can be poured down the sink

Know how to dispose of chemicals (check the lab sheet) - not everything we use can be poured down the sink!
Keep test tubes pointed away from yourself and others!
Never cork a flask you are heating!
When pouring, commit and pour fast and steady (to overcome the water tension)
Assume everything that isn't water in the lab is flammable.
