Physical Property - Can be observed without changing the substance.
Rip, shaving, tearing, cutting, observing the color (no new change) are all physical properties
Chemical Property - Can only be observed with a chemical change (a new substance is formed). Chemical properties cannot be seen without a permanent change happening.
-Flammability
-Radioactivity
-Permanent Color Change(permanent)
Evidence of Chemical Reactions:
Remember that the above evidence does not mean that 100% a reaction has occurred. Bubbles in soda for example, are the carbon dioxide (that was already present) escaping. If there is no new substance formed then you are not observing a chemical property or a chemical reaction!
