I have been teaching at Parkrose High School since 2003, and I have taught at both Mt. Hood Community College and Portland Community College. At the colleges, I taught WR121 and WR122; these courses are required for all community college students and can be taken by seniors at Parkrose High School for free through my AP Literature course. Also, the AP Literature college credit is transferable to most two and four year colleges and universities. My undergraduate degree is from Portland State University, and my multiple master's degrees are from University of Portland and Portland State University. Although teaching is my true passion, I have had other careers throughout my life: dancer, playwright, and theatrical director. In addition to teaching, I am passionate about running (six miles daily and 12 on Saturdays), reading, visiting museums, traveling, and spending time with my family (my son and my husband).
