Seal of Biliteracy

Step 1: Enter Seal of biliteracy credit Using ReTool

Using the Retool Enrichment and Transfer Credit Input page, enter students who have earned/passed their Seal of Biliteracy.

The fields should be filled out as follows-

• Grade Level: enter in the student’s grade level at the time they passed the exam

• School Name: Chicago Public Schools

• Course Name: State Seal of Biliteracy in [insert language]

• Term ID: enter in a term ID that the student passed the exam

• Store Code: the semester that corresponds to the term ID

• Grade: P

• Earned Credit Hours: 0

• Potential Credit Hours: 0

• Credit Type: TEST

• Exclude from Honor Roll/Class Rank/GPA: Yes

Step 2: Enter Passed Language on Student Services page

In PowerSchool, visit the student's Student Services page > under the Multilingual Learners section, select the language for the Seal of Biliteracy Language field > click Submit.

**If there isn't a language listed that a student earned the Seal of Biliteracy for, please submit a PS Assist ticket. 

After the Seal of Biliteracy Language is updated on the Student Services page, campuses can quickly locate passing students.

From the PS Start Page, enter - U_StudentsUserFields.SealofBiliteracyLanguage=@ - in the search field. Seal recipients will be listed in the Current Student Selection.

Step 3: Pull Transcript with Seal

When printing a transcript for passing students, campuses will need to use *Transcript - Official w State Biliteracy Seal - Pass*.
