What Are Object Reports?
Object reports are form letters and other documents you can create from the reports menu in PowerSchool.
ID cards, transcripts, truancy letters, and college info cards are all examples of object reports.
Some object reports are campus specific, some are for the entire network. If it has the initial or name of your campus in the title, it is campus specific and you can edit it. Otherwise, please do not make any changes!
How Are Object Reports Created?
An object report is made in PowerSchool using various elements, like text, lines, boxes or images. Each element is placed using measurements based on X, Y coordinates and using specific parameters.
How Do I Edit An Object Report?
You can edit the text parts of the object report. This sometimes includes contact info that is outdated, removing a teacher from a list who no longer works at the campus, or changing a date, time or room number on a report.
Please only edit object reports that have your campus name in the title. Otherwise, the object report is a network report, and for edits, a ticket should be submitted to PS Assist.
Steps for editing an object report:
Go to Reports -> Set up (tab).
Click on Object Reports.
Click on the title of the object report you'd like to edit.
Click on Export this report as a template. That way, if you make any errors, we can restore the report to the original state, if you send in the template to PS Assist.
To edit text, click on the Text label next to the block of text you would like to edit.
Edit the text in the box labeled "Text." Do not edit any further parameters below that!
Ignore any text surrounded by <> as that sets formatting , such as: <center>, <b>. Do not delete those tags.
Click Submit. You're finished! To test the report, you'll need to run it for a student like you would as normal.
