Which school of thought do you subscribe to; “Great minds think alike,” or “Great minds think for themselves”? Whichever adage works for you, I think we can all agree that great ideas deserve to be shared!! That sharing of best practice is precisely what the Money Works trainers endeavoured to do during our Accreditation Training on April 29th.
Here is a list of Top Delivery Tips straight from the wizened experts themselves:
- Spiral learning from previous sessions and feel free to move around content
- Learn everyone’s’ names and build relationships giving YP the freedom to chat and be real, which in turn helps them to identify their destination/goals/dreams
- Have YPs prepare in advance or assign “homework”
- Create characters as practice
- Use the YP to support each other
- Use optional resources
- Build excitement through your contagious enthusiasm and energy or perhaps add a competitive element
Below are trainers’ ideas on how to “sell it” to the YP:
- It is valuable on a C.V. and for helping the YP to stand out in the job market
- The qualification serves as physical proof of knowledge
- It prepares YP with the life skills needed for independent living
- Having a qualification builds self-esteem and confidence
- Ask the organisation what the YP would find beneficial from Money Works and build on that reference point
- Share that applying knowledge gained from the programme can be transformational for YP, their families, and their wider networks
- Focus on the value of the Money Works programme and later the added bonus of an accredited qualification
If you have any additional tips and tricks please feel free to share!
