Last week I was lucky enough to attend the ‘MoneyWise Customer Service awards’ at the stunning venue http://www.8northumberland.co.uk/venue/.
The awards night was to acknowledge outstanding businesses from the financial services sector hosted by TV Presenter Kate Garraway.
For the second year running, Moneywise choose MyBnk as their named charity which meant they were fundraising for us throughout the evening. We were proud to see a MyBnk Donation wallet at every place setting.
Myself and Jessie from the Income Team opened the show, on stage, in front of 300 people. It was a scary, surreal and surprisingly difficult to smile! Even though I deliver to young people all the time, having an adult audience felt very alien.
We asked everyone in the room what the minimum wage was for each age bracket, even though we were in a room with financial experts…..I don’t think we heard the right answer called once, this was a seamless way to highlight the need for financial education.
We felt honoured and privileged to have been chosen by Moneywise; to add to the pleasure, We were sat on the top table with 8 men in tuxedos! J We chatted, laughed, cheated at the music quiz, consumed lots of food & wine and managed to raise £693 on the night.
Support in terms of funding and donations is essential for MyBnk to be powered – So lets all continue to spread the MyBnk Buzz, network at schools and events….you never know when people might have that extra cash to splash.
