Hey Team
So I did an EIB Session 2 , last Friday and the students weren't too enthusiastic,so to spice things I organised mock job interviews encouraging some of the staff also to get involved.
1. I first asked them to list all the skills they had acquired during the programme
2.I then asked them to pick one of the job profiles ( for eg. Sales assistant,Youth Worker,Record Label assistant etc)
3. Each candidate then had to enter the room and act as if they were being interviewed for the job and explain what skills they had acquired that could be applied to the specific job role they had chosen.
4. Staff sit on the panel as well and ask questions while a few can just observe and then give feedback afterwards.
This really helped to summarise the purpose behind the workshop and drive home the employ-ability aspect of it all. If working in big groups I simply recommend asking each team to nominate a person to apply and interview for the role and then the class can give feedback. I've done this twice now, and found it also helps those who may have been quite problematic through the course of the workshop, due to behaviour issues or an inability to dive into the challenge, the interviews enable them to to shine in a different are: performing arts.
Hope this helps.
