Course Overview and Goals
International Relations is an elective semester long course. The class is designed to offer students an in-depth examination of US foreign policy matters and ignite an understanding of world events. Students who take this course should expect to spend a significant amount of class time in active discussion about the international events of the day.
This course is built around the study of the following 3 themes:
Current Events
Global Geography
Theories of International Relations
There will be several events during this semester that will act as formative assessments:
World News Update (in-class)
Theory Debates (in-class)
Global Crisis Simulation (in-school field trip)
Oxford Debates (in-school field trip)
Foreign Policy Forum (ASR)
Grading
Daily Work and Map Quizzes = 80%
This will include all work including debates, projects, quizzes and presentations.
Map quizzes will be taken in class throughout the semester.
Final = 20%

Oxford Debate
Forum Project
