Home Design - VR

THE CHALLENGE: Become an interrior designer or architect in virtual reality using Home Design VR on the Meta Quest!! In this game you create a house with walls, windows, furniture, and many other design features. Create your dream house or design a new original house with a new purpose!

THE DETAILS:

Decide on what the purpose of your house design will be.
Go through the tutorial on the game itself. It took me a while to learn ALL the tools and options that are available. Plan to spend at least 2 CLASSES learning just how to play.
Day 4 or 5, begin really making your design. Take screenshots or record the screen of the casting on the computer.
Keep track of all the different tools you learn and use. This will be great evidence of tech skills on your presentation slides!!
Put your visuals on your slides to communicate what you were able to accomplish with your time using Home Design VR

Tutorial for using Home Design VR. Even though there is a tutorial in the game itself, this is good to watch to see if it looks fun!

STEAM U Levels:

GREEN CIRCLE (1 PT.)

- Attempted to use this new technology and was able to learn some new things with it. Maybe nothing was completed that looks finalized but a lot was learned.
- Presentation slides are completed.

BLUE CIRCLE (2 PTS.) IN ADDITION TO ALL IN THE GREEN CIRCLE....

Presentation communicates at least 4 tools used from Home Design VR to create your design.
Presentation does a nice job communicating the steps you took in order to learn and complete your design.
A design was made and maybe not completed but a clear idea is presented of what the final ghouse would look like.
Presentation slides visually look like you are presenting a house design and have the feel of your house.

at least 8 new tools used to create your design are communicated and shown how to use them.
Presentation slides are colorful and have a common theme that match the purpose of the design.
House design has a clear purpose and original ideas meant to help a certain audince. This purpose can be anything but needs to improve the current living situations for a certain population through different aspect within the design. A screen recording is used to communicate your entire design. The recording she have sound and be well edited.
