Combining Innovation & Technology
The Challenge:
Using your advanced video editing skills, create quick 6 second videos that tell a story and leaves people saying, "How'd they do that?!" In order to catch someone's attention in just 6 seconds, you must be EXTREMELY creative with what and how you are going to make the video. It takes A LOT of planning and trial and error to get a video editing trick perfect. That's why this project is a black diamond. What kind of creative art can you make that will last 6 seconds?
Details:
PLAN!! Making a good 6 second magic takes a lot of preparation. Because it is only 6 seconds long, how you use that time is very important!!
Come up with your idea(s)
Be sure that you film your scenes so that when you edit them in iMovie, it is hard to tell where you cut and split clips. The more the clips match the better, and easier, it will be to edit the video in iMovie.
Import your scenes into iMovie
Spend A LOT of time editing. Cut the clips as precisely as you can to make it look like it is one, continuous clip. Use sound, titles, transitions, etc. to cover anything up that you don't want the audience to notice.
Export your iMovie or WeVideo so that it can be shared with all!
GREEN CIRCLE (1 PT.)
Video and filmed scenes and cut together but 'hiccups' between scenes can be noticed.
Sound is used but does not match video
An introduction and conclusion is included that includes creator names, title of project, and necessary citations
Content is original but perhaps only to you and classmates
Presentation includes all parts of the STEM presentation Template
BLUE CIRCLE (2 PTS.) IN ADDITION TO ALL IN THE GREEN CIRCLE....
Video and scenes are well edited. Difficult to tell where the beginning and ending of clips.
Sound effects are added on top of original sound.
Music is used when appropriate (Introduction or Conclusion or dead time...)
All citations done correctly
Content is original. Ideas are new to a large audience of people and have not been seen before
Editing techniques are added to make the final product look 'polished'. Examples: Altering video speed, colors, titles, backdrops, green screen, fade in and outs, layering, visual effects, etc.
Your presentation is clear and does a nice job communicating the new technologies and editing techniques used
Either the Design Process and Entrepreneurship Model is followed and then explained in the presentation
BLACK DIAMOND (3PTS) IN ADDITION TO ALL IN THE GREEN CIRCLE AND BLUE SQUARE...
Editing between clips is seamless.
The content and idea of the video is not only original to a large audience and has rarely been seen before but the content delivers a message and purpose to those who watch it. MORE than just be funny or entertaining.
At least 5 editing techniques are used to make the completed project look professional. Examples of such techniques are listed above in the Blue Square criteria.
Advanced iMovie, Final Cut Pro, or other video editing software techniques are used and explained in your presentation.
The project is completed independently. New technologies and challenges are researched and problem solved using your own critical thinking skills
