THE CHALLENGE: Choose an image and make it come alive! Start developing your animation skills by making your dog actually talk or become your favorite singer. Make a snowman sing to you or have yourself talk like a robot! Use Crazytalk to make any picture come to life!
THE DETAILS:
CrazyTalk is available on 2 lab computers so check for availability
Find an image that you would like to use by taking your own picture or finding one on Google images and saving it or taking screenshot.
Import your image (known as 'actor') by clicking on the icon of the head in the upper right corner of the screen
Then choose to import image or you can also just take a picture of yourself using the computer's camera/
Then follow this Tutorial (10 minutes) to learn more!
STEAM U Levels:
GREEN CIRCLE (1 PT.)
Learn the basics of Crazytalk. Attempt to create an animation.
Communicate to the class what you learned in your time working with the software. Talk about several of the tools used on Crazytalk and talk about the process of making a picture come to life.
BLUE CIRCLE (2 PTS.) IN ADDITION TO ALL IN THE GREEN CIRCLE....
Make a picture come to life! Import an image and make it move and talk.
Include facial movements that reflect what is being said by the 'actor'.
BLACK DIAMOND (3PTS) IN ADDITION TO ALL IN THE GREEN CIRCLE AND BLUE SQUARE...
If you are looking for a black diamond in this area, I recommend trying Crazytalk Animator which takes what is learned here but applies it to whole body movement and possibility of creating an entire animated scene.
