MInecraft Remake
The Challenge: Use Minecraft to remake a favorite movie scene. Recreate the setting and the actors to make the movie scene come to life in Minecraft!!
The Details:
Decide which movie scene you want to try and recreate. Think about all aspects. Will it be possible to make in Minecraft and then recorded in Minecraft? Think about the number of characters/actors involved, the setting, the audio, the special effects.
Fine the scene on Youtube on use the Youtube to .MP4 converter robot to download the scene.
Gather the details of the scene. What's the set, the actors, the lines, the backdrop? Things like that.
Begin building the set and actors in Minecraft.
When finished building, use QuickTime to screen record the scene with actor movement and camera angles. QuickTime tutorial is below.
Import the screen recording into iMovie, WeVideo or another video editing software.
Begin editing the scene to match the real scene as much as possible.
Put the real scene you downloaded from youtube at the beginning of the project at either the beginning or end of your video.
Export the video and add to your drive and your final presentation slides.
GREEN CIRCLE (1 PT.)
Recreate a movie scene using Minecraft.
Use QuickTime to screen record what you made in Minecraft to recreate a movie scene.
Majority of class time seemed to be spent on minecraft rather than editing the video adding sound, titles, transitions, effects, etc.
Sound is not edited. Sound is simply what was recorded in the scene.
Remake is not compared to actual movie scene. Seems like most time just spent building in Minecraft.
The Minecraft remake is an close representation of the original movie scene.
Use iMovie, Final Cut Pro or another video editing program to edit your clips.
At least 2 different camera angles are used when screen recording the Minecraft scene.
Add a soundtrack that involves more than just the sound captured from original film clips.
A transition, a title, a background are all used at some point in the film
Citations are correctly made for any clips, music, etc., used in the film

Sound quality is high. Perhaps even matched to the real audio of the movie scene.
Film includes a variety of transitions, titles, backgrounds, and other effects to give the film a well-edited, polished feel. Innovative and advanced editing techniques are included.

How to use the Minecraft available in the CMA Lab:
TWO RULES WHEN USING MINECRAFT IN THE CMA LAB. BOTH WITH RESULT IN NOT BEING ALLOWED TO USE MINECRAFT ANYMORE.
1) You are only allowed in YOUR OWN world. If you go in another student's world, you're done.
2) you MUST be on creative mode. NO SURVIVAL.

How to get onto Minecraft:
Be sure that the Wi-Fi is turned off! UNLESS you are at a computer that has a label that says 'keep on WiFi'.
Once you've clicked on the Minecraft icon in the doc, choose 'Start Minecraft' , then 'MinecraftEDU', then click 'Launch'.
Choose 'Single Player' to create a world. Once the world is created, if you want your partner to join your world, you must 'Open to Lan' by pressing the 'esc' key and clicking on 'Open to LAN'.
Your Partner then should take the same steps to to get onto Minecraft HOWEVER, rather than selecting 'Single Player', choose 'Multiplayer' then find your world that should be there if both computers have the WiFi turned OFF and the world has been opened to LAN.
