In attendance: James Wang, Honor Sun, George Tien, James Shau, John Kan, Steve Lin, Stanley Tai, William Chang, Kaining Chang
We prayed for some 25 minutes and then prayed the verse Rev.5:9 according to 100 days of prayer for another 10-15 minutes. We touched:
"men" - "out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Oh, He was slain, not only for us, for men!
All God's plan is in the scroll that He opened. We are planning in His plan.
Report on South Bay sub-region coordination
See GTCA South Bay FAQ.
Workplace Bible study is an important venue of follow-up for us to keep in mind.
Report on the FTTA team
See basic info, including the requirements, in this page.
We should match the 8 FTTA trainees and have at least 8 local saints in Cupertino even during the week days.
In fact, we should pray for at least 8 local saints be released to labor during the week days for the entire two weeks.
Please use this page with the Google sheet to commit our availability.
The FTTA team is ideal for labor on De Anza campus.
We would like to have them with our YP, too.
Likely we will need two brothers dedicated to arrange for the FTTA team, from hospitality to all the meals and more.
We should arrange for their recreation as well, including the off days (maybe their time with YP could also be more informal, e.g. SAT or LD activities).
Report on material & equipment
Please see this page for items that we have planned to order and the progress.
Note that limit on the number of Bibles from BfA, so we now set on 240 English and 60 Spanish.
Note that we are still to have a brother in charge of ordering Chinese Bibles and tracks (not offered by BfA).
Some fellowship on the venues
Venues for 2-4 teams on the weekdays will suffice for 8 (local) to 16 (+8 FTTA). We should really focus on "high-value" targets.
From the experience in Germany, as people often observe first, the effect of repeated appearances to the same "high-value" locations is multiplicative, not additive. It is better to have few really good spots for repeated showing than rotating through many different venues.
We expect De Anza College to be one such. We may have at least two teams there: one indoors, one outdoors. Honor will reserve the table and/or tent space for the entire two weeks.
Cupertino library/Civic Center (including food places around) could be another high-value target. We know we can put a table there. George & J Kan will have a test run there soon.
De Anza Flea Market: 2/3 Saturday.
Brother Bob Brandon will help us reserve two spaces as he used to do. He will also lent us his tents.
Current idea: Not just to set up a table for contacting people and distribution, but also to sing our love of Lord to the people!
11am - 12pm : working saints
12pm - 1pm YP
1pm - 2pm 50+1
"Regardless of whether you are young or old, if you have never been crazy with Jesus, you are not that qualified to be a good Christian. ... Some in the older generation may say that this is good only for the young ones. But we older ones also need to be crazy." ("The Living and Practical Way to Enjoy Christ" p.19)
Some fellowship on the schedule
We propose to have all saints in the church, ch + en, to come together 1/26 Friday to have much prayer to start GTCA 2018.
We propose to plan to have reaping meetings in Chinese and in English the last weekend, Saturday seems better, i.e. 2/10.
If South Bay plans to have combined reaping meetings, we will join in.
We expect at least some nights, esp. Tuesdays, having dinner and overflow time at the meeting hall for all saints both to blend and to partake of the joy of those laboring the days.
For the morale of weekday morning coordination time, we may want to combine with a few South Bay churches, e.g. Sunnyvale, Campbell, maybe Palo Alto.
Note that we will not have all the time scheduled for outreaching only. Besides rest, we also will spend time on appointments to follow up.
[A draft weekday schedule. This was not part of the evening fellowship.]
