Preparing Water for Baptism

The water heater has limited capacity. We therefore need to do it the following way:

  • Start preparing at least some 42 minutes earlier but not too much earlier lest water turned cold.

  • Close the outlet at the bottom, using say the stick side of the broom.

  • [10m 20s] Turn on the hot water (only) and let it flow for some 10 minutes 20 seconds until the water coming out becomes cold.

  • [20m] Close the cover and wait for 20 minutes.

  • [5m] Open the cover and turn on the hot water and let it flow for some 5 minutes. It is probably turned cold before 4.5 minutes.

  • [?m] Close the cover and wait until some 7 minutes before the baptizm.

  • [6m+] Turn on the hot water and let it flow until adequate water level for baptism without the overall temperature becoming cold. The water out of tap is probably turned cold pretty quickly. Please watch carefully at this stage.

    • Secure the opened cover with the hook on the pipe.

After the baptism,

  • ** Check with kitchen service for a proper time to drain the water. The water would overflow the sink in the kitchen (1st floor).

    • Open the outlet at the bottom to drain, using say the stick side of the broom.

    • Keep the cover open for the baptistry to dry.

    • (Close the cover when dry.)
