In attendance: John Kan, Kenneth, Boaz, D Choi, J Shau.
Excused: George
We prayed Psa.46:4-5 and covered lesson 30 "The Meeting of the Elders".
a few highlights: "We are handling things before God.".. "concentrating their entire beings" .. "the elders should prepare for this meeting in their private time" .. "let the Holy Spirit be the presiding One" .. "to be infused with the instruction of God to care for the church"... "reading the saints just as ... the breastplate with the Urim and the Thummim".
We fellowshipped about the following:
The followups of GTCA contacts: We arrived at a good model in principle:
Burdened saints in 2s or 3s to pray and follow up in coordination.
They also bring up the key ones (not the whole list, which could easily be dozens from the burdened ones in one small group) in their small group, encouraging saints and being empowered by the group prayer.
The follow-through of GTCA: how we could continue to cultivate the spirit of gospel and the heart for people
Church/district wise, we should plan out activities some once a month, not at the intensity of GTCA, but something like the dry run we had at Cupertino library. We may have a mix of library/park, door knocking, flea market etc. Once in a while, say a quarter, we may also want to have a reaping gospel meeting.
Such church planned activities serve to, similar to GTCA but at a lesser degree, "to stimulate", to help more "get moving" through a coorindated corporate exercise.
But the reality is in the regular (daily or weekly) exercise of many saints personally and/or in 2s or 3s.
Saints who have good experiences should have the freedom to share from time to time during the prophesying meetings.
We may also have definite allocation of time to bring out such testimonies of personal exercises and/or in 2s or 3s in the Lord's Day meetings around the monthly planned activities.
Vital church life service groups, learning from Pleasant Hill
"How many saints are practicing 2s or 3s?" All we had was guestimate ... This brought up the sharing from what is practiced in Pleasant Hill: having a definite service group composed of burdened brothers & sisters, each group for a particular vital practice in the church life.
They have four: (1) vital person/living (2) vital group (3) gospel (4) home trainings.
Each service group of saints
personally practice the specific matter.
fellowship weekly as a vital group with pursuing of related ministry.
they also contact the saints, covering the phone list, to learn who are practicing the specific matter (and how) and share/support/supply them.
We would like to bring it up for more fellowship among the brothers.
