Corporate exercise of calling on the Lord's name
Pray-read Eph. 5:22-25, then read a portion of the ministry excerpt of Lesson 18 in the "Lessons on the Eldership". Everyone shared their enjoyments after reading.
English-speaking district church blending outing coordination:
George will look into whether there are places big enough for combined meeting (Sat. night & LD morning).
Burdens of this blending:
Getting to know one anther and having a genuine blending time.
Bringing the saints into the vital practices of calling on the Lord's name and praying God's Word.
Bringing the saints into the burden of living between the two alters -- a life of consecration and prayer, so that we may be burning in spirit.
To guide the saints into the proper practice of praying God's Word, brothers felt it would be good to use the Friday night time to refresh the saints with the points spoken in the recent perfecting training regarding this practice.
We could use the Saturday morning and LD morning to have personal time with the Lord, and have pray-reading sessions in 2s or 3s and unit-by-unit.
Brothers felt that this would also be a great opportunity to promote "digital sabbath," by encouraging saints to leave their smart phones/tablets in their cars in the morning, and use the paper bibles and hymnals during that time.
One of the brothers suggested that if possible we can give out the pocket-sized NT RCV to each of the saints there -- need to check with the bookroom sisters how soon we can order them, as we only have six copies sitting on the bookshelf.
Brothers also felt that we ourselves need to use the next 20 days or so (till the blending outing time) to seriously practices these two exercises in the morning, so we maybe able to give proper testimonies and guidance.
Regarding Saturday afternoon time -- corporate outdoors activities -- Stanley would like to look into this.
Regarding Saturday evening time -- one brother suggested that we can use and speak on one of br. Minoru's outlines given during the perfecting training.
Regarding the LD morning time -- if we are "successful" in leading the saints to be burning in spirit, the hope is that after the Lord's Table we might be able to have saints giving public consecrations (not a requirement).
Since the Labor Day Conference is next weekend, the next coordination time will be the following Saturday morning (9/9), a week before the outing. Therefore lots of detail practical arrangements will need to be done over emails or phone calls before then.
