About Our School
A very warm welcome to Brookmead School. We are a two-form entry Foundation Primary School for children aged 4 to 11 situated on the border of Ivinghoe and of Pitstone; we currently have 340 children on roll.
Brookmead is a happy, thriving, and successful school that nurtures the learning, confidence and individuality of all our children. Our children achieve high standards in reading, writing, and mathematics; we inspire them to learn through an exciting, rich and relevant curriculum that embraces outdoor learning, sport, music and technology and enables them to develop confidence, independence, and an enthusiasm for learning that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Working closely with families and the wider community, we provide a learning experience that brings our vision to life and gives our children the knowledge, skills and understanding to help prepare them for life and work in the twenty-first century.
We truly believe that life is a learning journey. We are welcoming, we have children who are keen to learn, a parent community who support their children to achieve their best and staff who have the determination to ensure our children receive an all round experience in education. We educate the whole child. Parents are a child’s first teacher and strong partnerships with our parents are important to us.
Brookmead is a school that we feel immensely proud of. We ensure our environment is as safe and nurturing as we can make it - we do this alongside supporting our children’s academic progress. We have a fantastic outside space with our very own Forest School which our children get to use annually. We believe that extra-curricular opportunities enrich a child’s learning experience and have a wide range of clubs and activities open to our children, from football club and cross country to orchestra, art or reading clubs.
The staff team at Brookmead School put children at the centre of every decision we make. Every single child, regardless of their life experiences, has the right to achieve and exceed their potential, through an inspirational, rich and diverse curriculum. We believe in bringing learning to life and life to learning.
