IB Fees May 2024 Session
As part of The The American School of Tegucigalpa's commitment to being a world class / top tier university preparation school, it is the only school in Honduras that offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Offering IB course / program options for students requires yearly financial investments that include, but are not limited to: an annual IB Organization fee, registration fees for every student in each IB course and IB learning component, ongoing teacher training, evaluation fees that ensure AST is continually meeting all International Baccalaureate standards, and IB learning support materials.
Our commitment to ensuring this investment in our students' learning experience is being utilized wisely is paramount; to this end, there are expectations students need to adhere to while participating in the IB program.
When students do not meet the clearly outlined learning and engagement expectations for an IB course or learning component, they will be withdrawn from that course or core component. Should this occur after January 15th, of the academic school year the IB Organization is assessing the students' work, the student will incur fees to cover the costs (for each applicable IB course) AST was responsible for paying the IB Organization.
The registration fee in which the students would be required to pay AST is $119.00 / IB course.
IB Full Diploma Candidates who are withdrawn from an IB course after January 15th (of the assessment year) will be automatically be withdrawn from their three core components (with no additional fees); however, there is an additional fee of $119.00 to change their registration status from "DIPLOMA" to "CERTIFICATE."
IB Full Diploma Candidates withdrawn from any of the core components after January 15th, will incur a $119 fee to change their registration status from "DIPLOMA" to "CERTIFICATE." Additionally, the student would be withdrawn from all three IB core components.
