May 2025 IB Exam Schedule and Required Information to Read
IMPORTANT: the IB Organization determines the times we give our exams.
The two links above are letters from the IB Organization; there are two "takeaways" students need to be aware of:
1.) All students need to remain in the IB exam room for at least two hours, regardless if the exam is less than two hours in duration.
2.) Morning tests will begin at either 8:30 am or 9:00 am and afternoon tests will begin at either 12:30 or 1:00 pm; thus, students and parents need to be looking at the test schedule in advance and with care.
Additionally / VERY IMPORTANT:
No watches are allowed to be worn in the examination room - for all IB exams.
Mandatory senior IB Review sessions will be scheduled.
IMPORTANT: students are not to seek, discuss, or share the content of examinations in the 24 hours before or after an exam paper is scheduled. Students are also expected to report any concerns they may have about any possible academic misconduct they become aware of. Failing to report a known case of academic dishonesty is also perceived to be malpractice by the IB Organization and The American School of Tegucigalpa.
Most IB exams will be held in the AST multi-purpose room. There are a few exceptions where students will test in the HS Library.
Failure to attend any IB Exam (for which you are scheduled to attend) will result in removal from that IB course for semester two. The student will not have completed the course and will not earn any IB credit for that course. Additionally, it will be mandatory to reimburse AST for the fee to be enrolled into the IB course. Exceptions will be considered for serious health issues. Note: if this does occur, the student will be required to provide a CERTIFICACION MEDICA, and the student will be required to take the test in the May 2026 session if they wish to complete the course.
Students must report 25 minutes before the test begins to be seated and prepared, and attend the exam wearing your AST uniform.
For each exam, students need to bring at least one black or blue pen.
Water will be provided; however, students are allowed to have a clear bottle of water.
It is advised that students bring a sweater to each exam; it is a large room and controlling the temperature for all students is not always easy.
Prior to each subject exam, an email will be sent (whether you are assigned to this test, or not) as a reminder and to include the materials that will be necessary to bring. Some exams require more materials than just a pen.
For exams that require the use of a calculator, please have the calculator in "test mode" before the test. Calculators will be checked before each applicable exam. Here is the: Calculator Guidelines for IB 2025 .
It is mandatory all students read pages 1 - 13 in this document: Conduct during IB Exams 2025.
